I don’t say I am an expert in farmtown but I just want to share some of my experiences in this game. First of all, Farmtown is on of the applications in Facebook where you can play online with people around the world. You plant crops, trees, harvest crops and fruits, plow, visit friends, making friends, interact with people, sell crops and fruits to markets and many other things.
When I first played Farmtown, I learned the layering of crops on the field. But when time passed by, lots of players are complaining this way of plowing fields. Facebook then upgraded the game to beta and made the farmtown more fun and interesting.
Now, here are the new updates of farmtown.
Growing Day – 20 hours
2-hour crop = raspberry, 4-hour crop = grapes
1-day crop = potato, strawberry, watermelon, and cabbage
2-day crop = rice, tomato, wheat, peas
3-day crop = sunflower, coffee, corn, onions
4-day crop = pumpkins
TREES:
3 day trees: Apple Tree, Lemon Tree, Orange Tree
4 day trees: Banana Tree, Peach Tree, Pear Tree, Plum Tree
5 day trees: Cherry Tree, Coconut Tree, Mango Tree
Crops go bad in approximately the same amount of time that they take to grow.
e.g. 1 day crop like potatoes take 1 day to go to waste. 4 hour crop like grapes take 4 hours to waste
Crops do not go bad in storage once harvested.
Fruit on trees do not go bad.
You are only charged for seeds when you actually click on the plot to sow them.
You can earn 3 different levels of income for each crop or tree . . .
1. Harvest yourself (Harvest & Sell) – this option earns the least coins.
2. Harvest yourself (Harvest & Storage – then you sell at market)
3. Hire someone to harvest for you. Earns the most coins. 20% more than #2
(Using potatoes as an example, they could earn 89, 99, or 119 coins. When you hire someone to harvest for you they earn money too, and it doesn’t cost you anything. The harvester you hire will earn 25 coins for each crop of potatoes.)
You do not get experience points for harvesting, but you do get points for plowing & planting.
1 point Plowing (per plot)
2 points Planting crop (per plot)

REAL ESTATE OFFICE
Upgrades must be purchased in order starting with the 14×14 upgrade. If you look in the picture below you will see that it tells you how many coins are required to purchase this first upgrade. You CANNOT skip an upgrade and try to purchase one at a higher level, even if you are at that level in the game.
When you purchase the first upgrade (14×14) it will unlock the following upgrade (16×16) and the first upgrade (14×14) will disappear from your real estate screen. The second upgrade (16×16) will now show the coins required to purchase it and the other upgrades will be locked. This is what will happen with each upgrade until you have purchased the final one.
