The Existence

I first saw them in the youtube singing “Nobody”. I like the song and it began to interest me in researching more about them. I still don’t have enough information but I read some of the “about me” or biography of them.

Wonder girls is a group that has 5 members from South Korea. Yubin “the diva”, Sohee “the trendsetter”, Sun “the perfectionist”, Mimi “the daydreamer” and Yenny “The Go Getter”. They are produced by singer-songwriter Park Jin-Young and are signed to his talent agency, JYP Entertainment. Each of the five original members were selected through auditions. Debuting in early 2007, they became popular in the fall of that year with the song “Tell Me”. They have scored 3 consecutive #1 hit singles: Tell Me, So Hot, nad Nobody. In 2008, they won two Daesangs (“Artist of the Year” Awards).

Yubin “The Diva”

Birthname: Kim Yubin
Date of Birth: October 4, 1988

Onstage, Yubin is the hottest and funkiest member, but offstage she’s the big sister that all the members love and come to with their problems. She’s very understanding and her maturity helps keep everyone in check.

Sohee “The Trendsetter”

Birth name: Ahn Sohee
Date of Birth: June 27, 1992

Sohee is the most fashion-forward member of the group. She’s also known as “dumpling.” She doesn’t speak her mind much, and likes spending time by herself, but every once in a while she’ll crack a brilliant joke that blows everyone away.

Sun “The Perfectionist”

Birth name: Min Sunye
Date of Birth: August 12, 1989

Sun is confident, articulate, and hard working. As the leader of the group, Sun is the motivator and is always making sure that the girls work hard and stay focused.

Mimi “The Daydreamer”

Birth name: Sun Mi
Date of Birth: May 2, 1992

Mimi is lovingly called “the daydreamer” because she seems to be living in her own world. A cute girl who’s always smiling, she has a lively imagination that inspires and intrigues everyone around her.

Yenny “The Go Getter”

Birth name: Park Ye Eun
Date of Birth: May 26, 1989

Yenny is a smart girl with top grades in school. Independent and strong willed, Yenny never stops until she achieves her goals.

The Wonder Girls returned to Korea in spring of 2008. In May a picture of each member was released over five days starting with Ye-eun and ending with Sohee. A preview track from the upcoming single was then released. There were rumours that past member Hyuna would be returning to the group; JYP Entertainment confirmed that this was not the case.
